I recently ordered a cooktop, double wall ovens, range hood and two beverage centers from Number1Direct. All were shipped pretty quickly and arrived with no problems. Prices were outstanding. Yes, they do charge your card right away while processing your order, but I dont blame them - when buying a $2000 item the merchant must make sure the payment is process BEFORE they cut a PO to their vendor. I've ordered from other merchants and most do this too in order to protect themselves. As for their "10 year warranty" - you get no paperwork or details on that so I wouldn't put much faith in it. |

I don't normally do reveiws on sites like this, but the service I received from the staff at Number1 appliance was outstanding from start to finish. I felt they deserved a little praise. I looked for a long time for a refrigerator to replace the one from Whirlpool that has lasted me for over 20 years. I hadn't tried buying anything this big over the internet before. I was told to check out shopping.com by a friend. It was there that I came accross Number 1 Appliances. The refrigerator I bought had the lowest price I could find by far. Also, they were the only store out there offering a FREE 10 year warranty with the refrigerator. While that might not make a huge difference to some people, I have had to pay to have my dishwasher fixed before and it can get expensive. I couldn't believe Number 1 was giving that to me for free! Big boss Gary would not price match a lower price found at other merchant. Here is from their website: Price Match Guarantee... We promise you the lowest possible price. At Number 1 you always get the lowest price. If you find a better price from an authorized dealer (including shipping, handling, delivery, and sales tax) on an identical branded item Number 1 will match that total price. Is there a word to describe customer service worse than awful? Perhaps Gawd Awful. This is simply the worst place to purchase appliances on the face of the earth. As a property manager, I purchase dozens of appliances each year. I made the mistake of purchasing a Washer and Dryer from these people. The Dryer arrived damaged. First I was told that since I didn't refuse shipment on the unit, I would have to pay to ship it back and pay a 15% restocking fee on top of that. Then I was told by what clearly turned out to be a smart a$$ customer service agent that they had a meeting that he missed that morning and the new policy was that it had to be reported within 48 hours, therefore they would be arrangeing to have the unit picked up and replaced. A week went by and nothing happened, so I called back only to find out that it was all a lie. All they know how to do is repeatedly site thier endless barage of terms policies and excuses. this was a horrible merchant. i ordered three items and all three arrived damaged. the range was not able to be used at all because the door was broken and the gas line was cracked. i am still trying to get my money back and it has been three months. customer service is worthless there. i was told for 6 weeks that they were working on it but i had to initiate all calls, never had a return call or return email, and every single time i called i asked for the same person who happened to be in charge of customer service. he was always confused about who i was and couldn't remember the problem even though i told him my name, order number and date of delivery. when reminded at length each time, he would promise that he was working on it. finally, after six weeks, he again acted confused and surprised and notified me that it was my responsibility to make a claim with the shipping company. i would never order from them and i tell anyone who will listen to avoid their company. |

The price was attractive... However, the vendor charged my credit card immediately yet the delivery will not take place for 6 weeks. Nothing like providing a $2k loan for 6 weeks... Buyer beware. |
